Hey! I’m Casey.

I help people interested in optimal living to release accumulated stress and tension from their body and life, through Breathwork.

As I started diving into the science and experience of breathwork, I noticed an overall change in my state of being, from a constant general feeling of angst, to feeling lighter and more free. Aligning my values with how I show up in this space is fulfilling, and there’s no greater joy for me than making these tools accessible. You cannot do this wrong. Just come along exactly as you are.

What does it mean to regulate your state?

Taking a breath in the moment is a temporary solution.

What we’re interested in, is regulation.

That is, being able to get back to a resting state after a stress response.

It also means releasing accumulated stress and tension from your body,

FOR GOOD.

  • What is this breathing malarky you ask? I once asked the exact same thing.

    It’s true, breathing is an automatic function of the body. In fact, we breathe up to 23,000 times a day, but my question to you is… how well are you paying attention to it?

    Interestingly, breathing is also a function we can control and is linked intimately with the state of our nervous system.

    When we begin to consciously use the breath to change our state and therefore influence the messages being sent along our nervous system, things get exciting.

    Essentially, breathwork is the practice of using breathing techniques as a tool to increase awareness and alter our state physically, mentally and emotionally.

    For me, Breathwork is about connecting back in with our bodies and their infinite intelligence. It’s a beautiful blend of neuroscience and intuition.

    By increasing oxygen intake and decreasing CO2 levels we are detoxifying and alkalising the body which is always communicating with us.

    Mentally, we’re switching off the analytical thinking mind, using the breath to bring in more intentional ways of being, relating and perceiving the world around us.

    Spiritually, well… I’ll let you decide :)

  • Focusing on the present moment is the essence of meditation and is something we look to cultivate during a breathwork session.

    The more you can tune into and be with whatever is arising physically, mentally and emotionally, and validate that experience during your session, the more you will get out of it.

    Witnessing without judgement and cultivating mindfulness, allows us to be in the moment, fully engaged in the here and now, as it is happening.

    At Regulate Your State we also use meditation at the end of a breathwork experience to support integration. A potent moment of space for you to just be with yourself and integrate the benefits from the session.

    As a practice in and of itself, meditation teaches us to let go of control, ultimately helping us to get comfortable with our mind, just as it is.

    You do not need to sit in a specific way as meditation is not something we do, the intention rather is simply to be.

    The more we commit to this practice, the more we create space in our life to choose our response rather than react. And so it is, we reclaim our power.
